Website inspiration for personal trainers, yoga & Pilates teachers

The net is full of all kinds of websites… the good, the bad, the ugly, the long overdue for an update and everything in between!

Whether you’re a Pilates or Yoga studio, a Personal Trainer offering their services in-person and online or any Wellness professional offering classes and workshops to groups, having a well-designed website will make your life easier and help you attract the right clients for your business.

I’ve put together a list of great websites from different types of Wellness and Fitness service providers. I believe that it’s the same for your body as it is for your website, it’s not just about the looks. Of course, we’ll naturally be attracted to a good-looking website but what makes a great website is more than just pretty pictures and fancy design. You can read more about what makes a website an efficient tool for your business rather than just a pretty page on the web in one of my previous posts here.

With this in mind, I’ll break down the main reason why each website appears in this list to help you get some inspiration and new ideas for your own website.

Websites for Pilates Studios

HEARTCORE

Services:

Heartcore offers Reformer Pilates classes in various studios throughout London and a variety of Mat Pilates classes via online livestream or on-demand video workouts. They also offer Personal Training services both at their studios and online. Finally they organise retreats once or twice a year.

Why it made it to the list!

Their home page and header banner does an amazing job at giving site visitors an instant overview of their key services (Studio vs. Online workouts) and the video in the background gives you a vibe of both would feel like.

The way they’ve presented their classes options is very visual and easy to read. The website has a very consistent branding as you can see a similar style applied to how client testimonials are presented.

Finally, they have clear Call To Action wherever it makes sense.

KAREN LORD PILATES MOVEMENT

Services:

Karen Lord or KLPM primarily offers Reformer Pilates classes for both groups and private sessions in her studio based in Venice, California. They also offer an on-demand Pilates fitness program.

Why it made it to the list!

This Wix site is another great example of how you can direct site visitors as soon as possible to either your Studio or Online services as your potential online clients may as well live in another city or country.

All the information on the Home page is designed to help visitors to book or subscribe to one of their 3 services: In Studio Classes, Online Subscription Service or Private Sessions.

Super important when you offer both in-studio and online workouts is to make sure there’s no guessing where your studio is located!!!

Websites for Yoga Studios

CREATURE YOGA

Services:

Creature offers Yoga classes in their studio in Byron Bay or from their Online portal and mobile app. They also offer a large number of options for Yoga teacher training.

Why it made it to the list!

These two have a stunning branding! I love their work and I love their website. 😍 #fangirl

The home page is doing an awesome job at giving most site visitors the key next steps with the three buttons on the cover image. The website is also presenting in clear and highly visible way there key offers such as the different Teacher training programs AND their promo for new students!

It’s always a good one to include a little teaser for visitors who haven’t tried out your classes.

YUJ YOGA STUDIO

Services:

Yuj offers a range of Yoga classes in their six studios across Paris. They even have a yoga studio at the feet of the Mont-Blanc in Chamonix. All their classes seem to be ‘Far Infrared Hot Yoga’ ones. There classes are available via online livestream or on-demand video workouts. They offer yoga teacher training Finally they occasionally organise retreats and also have a shop with their branded gear.

Why it made it to the list!

For a yoga business with sooo many offerings they managed to keep their (main) menu well under control. It’s highly recommended to only show 3 to 5 options in your header menu, more options gets overwhelming or distracting.

They’ve got a great intro video that allows them to promote their on-demand video subscription as the rest of the website very much focuses on directing site visitors to their closest yoga studio in town.

The home page is also explains in a very simple way how Yuj Yoga offering is different (see the section with the 3 icons). If you do things a bit differently make sure to talk about it loud and clear.

SIVANANDA ASHRAM YOGA FARM

Services

Sivananda mainly offers a wide range of yoga teacher trainings ranging from Yoga Therapy Programs to RYT 200 & RYT 500 Yoga Teacher Trainings, as well as Permaculture Design Certification. They provide paid accommodation options at the Yoga Farm in cabins or camping.

Why it made it to the list!

I’ve intentionally included this one in the list… The style of the site is not the most modern and I’m personally not the biggest fan of the site’s colour palette or photography. That being said, it probably means that I’m not part of their ideal client audience. It’s a good reminder that your services don’t need to be for everyone. You need to be clear about who you’re talking to.

Aesthetics debate put aside, the home page is really well structured. Chances are that whatever their site visitors are coming for, they will find it in one click from the home page.

The main menu is clear and concise, despite the submenu being quite dense. It should be easy to find the information you’re looking for.

LITTLE YOGA SPACE

Services

The Little Yoga Space is located in Lisbon in Portugal. They offer a wide range of yoga classes such as Yoga for back pain, Yin & Yang Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, etc. as well as a few pilates classes. Classes are offered onsite and online. The online classes were most likely driven the pandemic.

Why it made it to the list!

How good is this site’s menu?!

It’s great that they’ve followed through with the menu’s concept as they explain in a bit more detail what’s behind the “Practice, Learn, Heal and Connect” options.

There’s great value in packaging or grouping your services like that as your site visitors / clients will navigate through your site based on their needs and emotions. It will help you connect with them online at a more personal level!

Websites for Personal Trainers

STACY LEL FITNESS

Services

Stacy offers an online subscription training program from her website. Her workouts are a combination of HIIT, strength training, athletic conditioning with a touch of Barre and Pilates inspired home fitness. Everything starts with a 10 day free trial with the option of either a monthly or annual membership to view her training programs online.

Why it made it to the list!

The home page is 100% focused on her goal, getting people to try her program to then hopefully keep going with a paid membership.

The website showcase both the benefits of the program as well as giving visitors an idea of what they would get for their money. This an important one when you’re selling something intangible like an online course or training program. Basically you want to apply the same rule as if you were selling a yoga mat or activewear… show your clients what they’ll get!

Finally the branding is simple and consistent which is what you want to aim for in general. All in all a nice looking Wix website.

STEPHANIE DAVIS FITNESS

Services:

Davis Fitness offers an online training program mainly aimed for females wanting to lose weight and work on their figure. She’s based in Austria so her website is available in both German and English.

Why it made it to the list!

This one is a One-Page Website. One-page websites are great for businesses targeting a single, specific audience (like ‘women who want to lose weight’ for example). They're quite popular with events, portfolios, and service-based businesses.

Single page websites aim to provide just the right amount of information for a user to make a decision and act on it. Davis is ticking off all the boxes here as she’s demonstrating the benefits and efficiency or her program all along the page.

The only (major) thing that is missing here are clear “call to action, in other words a button that says click to take the next to work with me. If a site visitor is convinced by what he’s reading here, he’ll need to do a bit looking up and down the page to buy a membership to her program.

The menu only offer 2 options: one for existing clients under login and one for new clients under Register. Simple! The words just need to be a bit more visible here. 😉

ALY GRAY FITNESS

Services:

Aly Gray is a Personal trainer based in the USA. She offers online 1:1 personal training, custom workout Plans, Live online workouts and online fitness challenges which are like themed workout programs (e.g. Fit For Fall Challenge in 21 Days). Aly also offers in-person Outdoor group Fitness Classes where she lives in Florida. Aly also offers a nutrition blog with recipes that you get access to when subscribing to one of her memberships.

Finally Aly’s also has an online shop where she sells some branded gear, a recipe book and some printable workout plans.

Why it made it to the list!

Aly Gray’s website is hosted on Wix and she quite possibly uses every single feature that Wix offers for fitness businesses.

It’s not yet common knowledge but Wix has developed dedicated tools and features for fitness businesses such as: Live streams & VOD, Online challenge programs, Memberships and packages, Online scheduling & payments, a mobile app, etc. So know that you don’t always need an external class scheduling system, in many cases Wix (or Squarespace) can do it all for you.

AG Fitness knows what her customers want: a selection of online challenges, live sessions via Zoom, a robust video library, a group chat and an app clients can use to book sessions on the go (she uses Fit by Wix).

All her offerings are clearly listed in both her desktop and mobile site menus, so members instantly know their options.

When looking for inspiration for your website, make sure to only pick bits and pieces that you like from different websites (including websites that are not in your industry). You don’t want to end up with a copy of someone else’s website but if you thought that the way one site has laid out their client testimonials is cool, make a note of it and how another site had a good idea for your About page, pin that down.

Hit me up if you need some help updating or creating that website of yours! I love creating beautiful online homes on Wix or Squarespace for Fitness professionals. 😊 💪
